My Story
"I find cool stuff and make things! That may sound rudimentary and simple but perhaps that is the essence of the creative process. The treasures I tend to find call to me; like the skull of a deer when I veer off the trail while hiking. Or an amazing old rusty steel piece buried for who knows how long in a creek bed. Maybe I just have an eye for it, and truth be told, I'm a bit of a collector. One day I thought, "How can I assemble some of these individual pieces to make a cohesive piece?" And I continue to do that in the present, letting the things I find have a voice, to speak to me, through me, to create something unique and beautiful. The finishes that nature and the elements render to certain materials cannot be duplicated by human hands. So I aim to preserve the rust on metal and weathering on wood as best I can when incorporating them into my art. The final results speak for themselves. Life & death, eternal & timeless, essential & elemental."
